What’s 2FA and how to activate it on your Overtracking account?

2FA, or Two-Factor Authentication, is an extra safety step that can aid in shielding your Overtracking account from hackers. When activated, you’ll have to enter a verification code together with your password each time you log in to your account. This code is created on your phone and sent to you through an app like Google Authenticator or Authy.

Why is 2FA important? #

It makes it much more difficult for hackers to access your account even if they have your password because they need access to your phone to receive the verification code.

To turn on 2FA for your Overtracking account, follow these steps: #

  1. Log in to your Overtracking account.
  2. Tap your username located in the top-right part of the screen.
  3. Tap ‘Settings’.
  4. Scroll down to “Two-factor authentication” and select “Yes”.
  5. Track the on-screen directions to download the authentication app and configure 2FA.
  6. Tap “update”.

After you turn on 2FA, you’ll get a code from the authentication app every time you log in to your Overtracking account. Enter your password and the verification code to sign in.
